但是，路加福音的耶穌家譜是這樣的﹕

該南是誰？ 該南從哪來的？
同樣一個問題﹕沙拉的父親是該南？還是亞法撒？
基本上，這是聖經學者們都同意的一個抄寫員的錯誤。
讀路加家譜這段﹕

沙拉是該南的兒子，該南是亞法撒的兒子，亞法撒是閃的兒子，閃是挪亞的兒子，挪亞是拉麥的兒子，

我們看見兩個“XXX是該南兒子”。大有可能，第一個“XXX是該南兒子”是抄寫員筆誤；第二個“XXX是該南兒子”是正確的。
因為路加福音是希臘文寫的，希臘文的語法和書寫方式和中文非常不同。這些“XXX是該南兒子”等中文句子，在希臘文是﹕“XXX兒子、XXX兒子……”。如果看希臘文，人會發現，這兩個“XXX是該南兒子”，都是在它們所在的行列的最後。如果直譯了英語，是這個樣子﹕
the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of

son of Cainan,

另外有第二個解釋﹕新約經常引用七十士譯本（舊約的希臘文翻譯本），而七十士譯本的創世記十一章11-12節卻有該南﹕
